Blue cloth decorated in black on the spine; illustrated with black and white plates. Light wear on the corners of the dustjacket with a short tear on the upper left of the rear panel; darkened around the edges and on the spine; aside from the author's inscription, no interior markings. The Doukhobors are a Christian group that originated in Russia. Over seven thousand of them left Russia for Canada around 1900 to pursue religious freedom. They settled in agricultural communes and it is estimated that there about 45,000 of them now, in Canada and the U.S. The Chapters are: Why This Book; My Personal Experience; Doukhobors - Spirit Wrestlers; Recognition of John Verigin; Doukhobors' Early Teachings; Declaration; Appeal to Reason; The Emigration to Canada; and Conclusion..
