About This Item
New York: Little, Brown & Co., 2005. First Edition, First Printing. . Hardcover. Fine/Fine. Pelecanos' thirteenth crime-thriller novel is set like his others in the Washington, D.C. It features Lorenzo Brown, a Humane Society officer on probation and trying hard to stay out of trouble, and his probation officer, Rachel Lopez, who spends her days helping Lorenzo and others on the path to responsibility and a decent life. But after work, Rachel heads for the city's hotel bars where she can lose herself in drink and sex. Lorenzo knows she needs help and reaches out to her, but it may be too late for both of them. Boards and text are clean and unmarked, tight and square; the dustjacket has perhaps a touch of shelf wear. A collectable copy.
