The Dreamer of Dreams by The Queen of Roumania - 1915

London : Hodder & Stoughton, 1915 A good to very good copy of the 1st and only edition in the original decorative cloth binding with fair wrapper. Tipped-in frontispiece and 5 further tipped-in colour plates by Edmund Dulac. Written by Marie, Queen of Romania (1875-1938), who authored a number of works. Undated but published in 1915 during World War I. The wrap is in fair condition with loss to the top and bottom of the spine and reinforcing archive tape repair to the spine and top and bottom edges. There is a hole at the spine. The pasted picture to the front cover has some loss to the left side. The binding is square and tight with a bright spine. The front board has some scuffing and fading. Back board with slight mottling. Contents with new endpapers; half title; frontispiece (wrongly noted at p17 in the illustration list); title; dedication; illustration list; text pp 1-181 with 5 further plates; 1 page advert to rear. The plates are very bright and clean. The tissue guard to the plate at p 124 is creased. Text generally clean. There is some mottling towards the bottom of pages most noticeable at pp 169-181 and on the half title and dedication page.
