New York: Harcourt Brace & Co, 1994. Paperback. Very Good. ix, [1], 268 p.; 23 cm. Paperback with turquoise covers. Signed by the author on the half title page. A pair of private investigators in Boston who "fly in the face of institutionalized bigotry and corruption" and "question the definition of 'racially motivated incidents'" to solve the case. This was the first novel by Dennis Lehane, who wrote for the HBO series The Wire and went on to write novels that were the basis of the films Mystic River, Shutter Island, and Gone, Baby, Gone. A scarce signed advanced reader's copy of his first book. In Very Good Condition: discoloration along spine; upper corner of back cover creased; clean and tight.
