Dark green leather binding with duck motif stamped in gilt on front cover, blind ruled borders, titles on spine in gilt. Illustrated with line drawings, maps and 36 colour plates showing winter and autumn plumages, one fold-out family chart, 476 pages. Introduction by Aldo Leopold. For the Naturalist and Sportsman. Signature of Lyle______?, Grants Pass, Oregon on front endpaper, previous owner or may have some association with book, note found laid-in "Thank you Lyle/Frank. Off-setting at the margins of pastedowns and endpapers due to reaction with bindery glue, just a hint of wear to the covers, very collectible copy.
