Only Edition, A THICK PAPER COPY of his scientific correspondence on meteorology, geology, natural history and physics.
In the first letter, DAVISI DESCRIBES HIS EXPERIMENTS WITH A TYPE OF RADIAL STEAM TURBINE and his investigations into sponges, soap bubbles and bloody rains. He discusses the origin of rain, snow, hail and wind and the effects of heat, humidity and atmospheric pressure. He theorizes the common primordial generation of fish and birds and PRAISES NATIVE AMERICANS FOR THEIR INTERPRETATION OF THE WORLD BASED ON OBSERVATION.
In the second letter, he presents and illustrates his theory on the origins of rivers and natural springs and extols galileo's scientific method. The book is dedicated to Leopoldo de' Medici (1617-75), patron of the sciences and cofounder of the Accademia del Cimento. In good condition (minor foxing); mid 18th-century ink stamp of the Medici-Lorraine ducal library on the title.
