Photos by Mary Earle Gould. 8vo (9 3/4" x 6 1/2"), blue buckram with gold lettering on spine and front cover, archival polyester-protected pictorial dust jacket (uncipped) with picture of wooden utensils drawn by the author-illustrator, plus a B&W photographic frontispiece and 130 in-text photos of items; endpapers of the interior of a period kitchen, xiv, [xv-xvi] + 243 glossy pages. Mary Earle Gould (1885-1975) was an early American antique collector, columnist and author, who specialized in antiques, material culture, and social customs. Early American Wooden Ware (1942, 1948 rev.) was her first book, which was followed by The Early American House (1949), Antique Tin & Tole Ware (1958), among other works.<br/><br/>SUPERIOR COPY: Tight, bright, clean without foxing or marks by previous owners. The dust jacket is remarkably complete with edgewear and slight losses at the head and foot of the dj's spine.
