About This Item
St. Augustine, Fl.: Florida Historical Society, 1857. 31,[1]pp. Original printed wrappers; front cover detached, spine chipped. Internally clean. Good. Fairbanks wrote much on early Florida history, here lecturing on its earliest explorations and encounters between Spaniards and natives. The Historical Society of Florida was only organized in 1856, and the names of its officers and members, as well as its constitution and by-laws, appear at the end of the text. From the quality of the printing and the relative commonness of this pamphlet, it seems likely it was actually printed elsewhere, possibly New York. HOWES F7. SABIN 23668. SERVIES 4195
