Heavy brown linen with color pictorial paste-down on front cover, gilt-stamped titles, and the high quality enamel paper stock for the text which was initiated with the second printing. Preface by Jack R. McGregor; introductory note and catalogue on furniture by Donald L. Stover; introductory note and catalogue of decorative arts by Cecilia Steinfeldt.

Catalogue of 344 exhibits, published in conjunction with exhibition held at the Witte Memorial Museum, June 16 to December 31, 1973. Spans the entire nineteenth century, organized in two sections: Furniture (1-184) and Decorative Arts (185-344), including silver, ironwork, pottery, quilts and coverlets, etc., with descriptive notes on each and commentaries on most works exhibited.
