1522. Early work by Saint Augustine in English. The only date showing in print is 1522, which may be the original publication date. Unfortunately, this book is missing the title page, so it is unclear which of Saint Augustine's works this is. There is an extensive part of the book which has "Saint Augustine on one side of each page and "Of the Citie of God" on the other, which he originally wrote about Rome. Old writing to the inside cover show this as perhaps from 1523, and "very rare" but without the title page, it is unverifiable. We are pricing this well below the price for later works due to the missing title page. Wear to this book is due to old damp staining, foxing, and general usage.
