About This Item

McClurg in 1922 (which is the date on the copyright page, and which is usually misunderstood as being the publication date for this one). Red cloth w/black lettering to front cover/spine, 277 pages w/five pages of advertisements for other titles published by G&D (works by ERB, Curwood, Grey, Tarkington), eight full-page illustrations (including frontispiece). Light wear to corners/spine ends, bump to top edge of front cover, moderately sized stain to back cover, previous owner's small name-stamp applied twice to front end paper, once to half-title, and three times to reverse of frontispiece (poor guy was probably worried about forgetting his name), light soil to page edges, top edge foxed/stained, in dust jacket w/edgewear, chipping/short tears to corners/top spine end, largish piece torn from bottom spine (pretty much removes publisher's name), rubbing, spine edges worn, spine slightly darkened, diagonal crease to bottom of rear flap/bottom left corner of rear panel. Jacket now in protective mylar sleeve..
