Hampton: the author, 1970. [xvi], 141p., frontis portrait of author+ two plates (19thC portraits), later printing wraps; cover a bit edgeworn and rubbed. These plates were added to this third printing, text not altered. The career officer was born in Mississippi in 1914, attended Tougaloo and served in CCC camps in Michigan before entering the army in 1942.
