About This Item
New York: R.F. Fenno & Co., 1905. First edition. Hardcover. Very Good. Fitch, Lt. Colonel of 21th Wisconsin volunteers and later Colonel of US Volunteers, served at Chickamauga, Chattanooga, and was part of Sherman's march to the sea. Bound in beige/gold cloth with gold-stamped titles and a red acorn on front. Signed, inscribed by Fitch to a professor Loomis. On the first white page is a list in blue pencil of 18 names including Fitch and Loomis. Blue endpapers have a little wear near gutter. Repaired tears on two pages and a tiny tear at top of cloth spine. Top edges gilt. Clean and straight.
