First edition, first impression, inscribed by the author; 8vo; internally fine; publisher's red cloth, gilt lettering to spine, red topstain, extremities rubbed, upper cover slightly stained, with the original unclipped dustjacket, lightly rubbed, soiled and stained, spine sunned, a few tiny chips, else very good.
Presentation copy, inscribed by the author in black in to the front free endpaper, 'E.A. Chapman-Andrews O.B.E / with best wishes from / Evelyn Waugh / Harar 1936'.
