About This Item

Carbondale, Illinois: Southern Illinois University Press, 1962. Hardcover. Fine/Near Fine. First edition. Small quarto. About fine in modestly rubbed about near fine dustwrapper. Nicely Inscribed by the author: "George J. Hasslein with highest regard and long friendship. Buckminster Fuller." Accompanied by a stapled five page (printed rectos only) "introductory brochure" presenting the book. Stapled in the left-hand corner to the brochure is an Autograph Letter Signed from Fuller to Hasslein thanking him for his letters and for his sending his feedback about the book. The letter has some small tears and age-toning. Hasslein was also a professor at Southern Illinois and later became the founding Dean of the College of Architecture and Environmental Design at California Polytechnic. A nice association.
