Spots of wear to two corner tips, spine ends; a little fading to board edges; binding tight and pages clean; no dust jacket (as issued) and states FIRST EDITION on copyright page. Laid in the introductory book is a newspaper article about the upcoming sale of the collection. The three books listing actual offerings are complete with original dust jackets, in fact the Part One book has TWO dust jackets, complete with printed card from Parke-Bernet explaining why. Some edge wear and edge chipping - now in archival quality removable mylar covers. Blue paper-covered boards with dark blue lettering (matching the introductory book). Covers are clean with some age-toning to edges. Wear to corners and spine ends. Bindings are tight and square, hinges are sound, pages are clean and bright.
