About This Item
Synopsis
The Einstein Intersection is a 1967 science fiction novel by Samuel R. Delany. It won the Nebula Award for Best Novel in 1967 and was nominated for the Hugo Award for Best Novel in 1968. It is sometimes titled A Fabulous, Formless Darkness, the author's intended title for the work. The novel is purportedly influenced by the film Black Orpheus. The protagonist, Lo Lobey, is loosely based on the character of Orpheus. The character of Kid Death is likewise based on Death in that film.
