Los Angeles: Associated Students of USC, 1932. Book. Very Good. Hardcover. 1st Edition. Quite a special book and thoroughly described here as is our custom, and the traditional way of offering fine books for sale, all books really. . . No dust jacket, of course. Given Coach Rockne's untimely death (plane accident Spring 1931) the summary of SCs 16 to 14 victory over the Irish (Nov. '31) and the section leading, full page tribute (photo/appreciation) to KR is more than noteworthy. The Olympics themed yearbook is unmarked, no marking of any kind noted, sturdy, clean and uncocked. The books interior has a number of design elements of international/Olympic style. The endsheets could be called magnificent from this standpoint. Examining each page of the piece has called to my attention 3 'flaws' that seem worth detailing, there may be others but I rather doubt it and with the exception of mild age appropriate wear issues I think the summary will be accurate, perhaps to a fault. There is a 3/4" tear at the lower margin of an interior page. Between the last endsheet and the texts last page there was a mild over gluing that resulted in the need for separation (at the gutter) of the sheets, this was smallish, and overglued area is less than a postage stamp in size. Finally the covers are a dark green in the main, with a generous sprinkle of paint fleck on it's back, not nearly as disfiguring as it sounds. I will attempt to get a back cover shot for the books listing, though given the issue and my poor camera technique I am not sure the flecks will be visible. JUST RECEIVED and added to this listing, decent hardcover of Castner's "We Remember Rockne" 2nd pr. 1976, a loving history of the coaches life and the game by game reminiscences of the players. Photo will follow..
