No markings found.. 4to (about 12.25 inches tall) . Description: This is the thirty-first volume of El Rodeo, the yearbook for the 1936 graduating class at the University of Southern California. Many black and white photo illustrations, university scenes are printed on bronze plates. Notable graduates for this year include Federal Judge Albert Lee Stephens Jr. who was President John F. Kennedy's first appointee to the federal court, and Bill Sefton (two-time world record holder in the pole vault). From the 1936 Olympics team we have Foy Draper (who was part of the Gold Medal winning relay team that included Jesse Owens), Earle Meadows (pole vault Gold Medal), Kenny Carpenter (Gold Medal in discus), Al Fitch (part of Silver Medal winning relay team), and Delos Thurber (Bronze Medal in the high jump). (Note: not all of these Olympians graduated during this year, but these names are found in the yearbook). Faculty members include track coach Dean B Cromwell and historian Rockwell D Hunt.
