Montreal: Armour & Ramsay, 1851. 12mo, 17.5cm, 126p + advt 1 leaf, "published by direction of the Commissioners of National Education, and reprinted by express permission at Montreal by Armour & Ramsay." Armour & Ramsay were early Montreal publishers and purveyors of "British Stationary, plain and fancy." This present text is bound in raw-linen-covered boards, very good condition augmented by the contemporary doodles of the student owner, one Gideon Adams (1854) and his possible erstwhile friend Isaac Cockburn, as well their pencilled annotations. Hinge is tender with cords revealed but sound.. hardcover. Very Good.

Dublin: Printed by Alex. Thom & Sons, , 1856.. 1856 126, [2] p. 18 cms. Publisher's canvas binding, soiled but undamaged. Henry Johnston has written his name on the front board and several other members of the Johnston family have written their names inside including Helen Johnston of Sharps Academy, Perth. There is also the label of D. Wood, Bokseller, Perth. A short repaired tear to p. 15/16 with no loss. Otherwise in very good condition for a multiple-user school book.
