New York: Assouline, 2013. First American edition. Hardcover. Fine. Large folio (15-1/2" x 12-1/4"). 256pp. English text. Black cloth lettered in gilt. Housed in color photo covered heavy cardboard slipcase. Profusely illustrated with photographs (most in color). Slipcase with some barely noticeable shelf-wear (this is a very heavy book), but still a fine copy.
Elie Saab (b. 1964) is known for his designs using expensive fabrics, lace, embroidery, gemstones, Swarovski crystals, etc. and one of his wedding dresses reportedly sold for $2.4 million. He is the first Lebanese designer to dress an Oscar winner (Hallie Berry). His clothes have been worn by royalty (Queen of Jordan, Princess of Sweden), as well as the Holywood glitterati (Sandra Bullock, Nicole Kidman, Kate Middleton, Angelina Jolie, Helen Mirren, Christina Aguilera, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Gal Gadot, Beyonce and Taylor Swift. He is the first Lebanese designer admitted to the fashion industry's governing body.
