Blue and red paper over boards with silver spine lettering, pictorial dust jacket. xxi, 263pp. Frontispiece, map, illustrations. Near fine/near fine. A superb, tight and bright first edition, handsomely signed and signed by the author in black ballpoint on the title page: "To Diann -- Best / wishes to you and I / hope you enjoy this wonderful / slice of history. / MDH / October 3, 2013." Recipient Diann Marsh's 2010 history of Washburne's hometown of Galena, Illinois, is cited in the bibliography and her ownership signature appears on the front flyleaf. A lovely presentation copy.
