Small octavo, pp. [1-4] [1] 2-261 [262: blank] [263-264: ads], flyleaves at front and rear, inserted frontispiece (photographic portrait of Ebers), original decorated dark green cloth, front and spine panels stamped in black and gold, rear panel stamped in black, dark brown coated endpapers. First edition in English. Two novellas and a short story. The title novella concerns alchemy and a truth-telling serum. The second, "The Greylock", is subtitled "A Fairy Tale."
