London: Faber & Faber Limited, 1934. Hardcover. 12mo. Teal green cloth with gilt spine lettering. 195pp. Very good. Faintest of binding wear only, else tight and internally fine. First edition, later state, with first appearance of the last of these eleven essays (John Marston). Delightful large bookplate on rear pastedown depicts red-robed Renaissance scholar at his desk penning a scroll.
