London: George Newnes, Ltd., 1921. Hardcover. Good/No Jacket. Elephant Folio - over 15 - 23" tall. Elephant folios. 338; 395 pages, indexed. TWO VOLUMES. They both are listed as VOLUME I but each covers two different periods in English history (period one and period two). Hardcovers quarter bound in dark blue cloth with light blue cloth covered boards. Bindings are spotted, have scuffing, light foxing. The period one book has a gouge to the fore-edge of the rear board. The period two book has a dark stain mark at the top of the front board. All edges of text blocks are gilt. The gilt is dulled, Marbled endpapers. Text has light toning. Some pages are smudged. Photographs throughout.
