Contents include a brief history of Ireland and its relations with England, the Norman conquest, rebellions, hostility to Catholics, various rebellions and insurrections, smuggling, Act of Settlement, land issues, various persecutions, administration, progress of Anarchy, revival of the Celts, the United Irishmen, the Fitzwilliam Crisis, the French at Bantry, the Rebellion, Lord Cornwallis and the Union etc, concluding with the state of Ireland in 1880.
