8vo, frontispiece, x, 232pp, all edges gilt, plates. Dark green gilt decorated and stamped cloth; gilt title at spine "Eothen, Oriental Life Illustrated", with gilt stamped illustration of obelisk. Gilt stamped illustration of author on camel at front and rear cover. Covers slt marked, spine ends chipped. Internally, owner signature "A. B. Clarke, Richmond, 1850" in pencil; fox spotting throughout. 'Alexander W. Kinglake 1809' in contemporary hand, top of title page.
