Original cream paper-covered boards, quarter-bound in brown cloth lettered in gilt to the spine, in dustwrapper. A fine, bright copy, the binding square and firm, the contents clean throughout. Complete with the fine dustwrapper, with a small ink mark to the top edge of the upper spine-fold. Not price-clipped (£1.40 net to the front flap). A sharp, attractive copy. Auden's penultimate volume. The affectionate title poem is addressed and dedicated to the poet's godson, Philip Spender, nephew of Stephen Spender.
