About This Item
New York, NY: Erie Railroad Company, 1924. Very Good. Typed letter signed (TLS), on Erie Railroad Company letterhead (10-1/2 x 8 inches wide), dated Jan. 21, 1924 and written with regards to a refund being sought by a traveler for an unused portion of their ticket. Signed in black ink per J.F. Shinn whose name also appears in the letterhead. Letter is toned with creases and fold lines from mailing. The two pieces of related ephemera are the ticket envelope and a Pullman Company ticket stub for the portion of the trip from Chicago to San Diego which is also rubber stamped verso "Erie R.R. Co. / Aug. 10 '23 / 36 West 40th St. / New York". Envelope is trimmed across the top, toned and edge worn with a few numbers in pencil verso, stub is a little toned. Together, these pieces tell of a broken trip taken on the Erie Railroad in the early 1920's.
