About This Item

Toronto: McClelland and Stewart, 1965, 1965. Book. Fine. Hardcover. 1st Edition. First Edition. Oblong quarto, (9.5" x 11.5"), wheat colored cloth covered boards with gilt and bronzed cover titles and spine titles. 224pp. including index, bibliography and notes. Illustrated throughout with color and black and white photographs of innumerable sculptures of the Eskimo. Text in English and French. Possibly the earliest serious treatment of the art of the Eskimo. A very tight, clean and unmarked volume with a tiny bump to top forecorner of a few pages and a bit of toning to extreme edges in a dust jacket which is separated at the spine and shows small edge chips and tears (appears reasonably presentable under the dust jacket protector). Very good plus in a good plus dust jacket..
