Words are sometimes replaced and in one instance he adds three lines of text. He has also written out the list of books ''by the same author'' and seven lines of Acknowledgements. He has scored out the name of the original dedicatee (Stanley Eker) and replaced it with that of Thomas Stearns Eliot. Loosely inserted is a Typed Letter Signed by the author and dated July 14: about 60 words on his headed writing paper to an editor asking if it would be possible to include a new essay.Spine cocked.
