The Hague: International Commission of Jurist. Very Good. 1955. First Edition. Paperback. Autograph; 62 pages; Delivered 13 June 1955, International Congress of Jurists, Athens, Greece. Inscribed and signed by the author to Dr. W. Lawrence Keith "as a token of appreciation of encouragement of my studies." OCLC: 10428776 Clean and tight in original printed wrappers, light toning at edges. Vladimir Gsovski was born in Moscow and briefly studied law in Heidelberg and Leipzig then served in the Russian Army in WWI and the anti-Communist forces in South Russia during the revolution. In 1927 he emigrated to the U.S and earned a PhD in Political Science at Georgetown University in 1935. Gsovski was Chief of the European Division of the Law Library of the Library of Congress and was an internationally recognized authority on the law of the U.S.S.R. and other Communist states, as well as an expert on civil and Roman law. .

At The Antiquarian Book Shop, located in Georgetown - an historic neighborhood of Washington, D.C. we have been buying, selling & appraising rare, interesting and scholarly books in Georgetown for more than 30 years. Over those many years we have taken great pleasure from satisfying our customers' eclectic literary requirements in the shop and hope to continue in that tradition now that we have moved our operation on-line.Currently, our catalogued inventory includes about 4,000 books from the sixteenth century through the twentieth century in a variety of subject areas. Our stock comprises antiquarian books, collectible books and scholarly books, as well as a selection of antique prints and ephemera.The books listed here represent only a small portion of our total inventory. We are in the process of cataloguing the extensive holdings in our warehouse (15,000+ books) and hope to flesh out these pages over the months to come.
