At the beginning of the text there is a two page map showing Turkey in its place in Asia Minor and a more detailed map of Turkey itself – please see photograph. The text itself is illustrated with black-and-white photographs. Beige coloured cloth covered boards with gilt coloured titles to the back strip. Illustrated dustwrapper with black coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. In this book the author explores the coast of Turkey and its offshore islands where " ... vivid contrasts of past impression show the changing nature of a people and a country which has served alternatively as a bastion of Europe and Asia.'' -- from the front fold over panel blurb. Minor softening of the back strip edges with a little rubbing of the corners and lower book edges. Age toning of the text block edges and pages. Chipping of the dustwrapper corners and back strip edges. The top edge, rear, shows a couple of closed tears, with noticeable rubbing of the dustwrapper panels.
