(Cape Town: Juta, preface dated 1935). 8vo; original green cloth gilt; pp. (vi) + 365, incl. index. Endpapers lightly foxed; occasional fox spot elsewhere. Very good condition. Excellent treatment of the early phase of Portuguese exploration along the African coast, showing the motivation of Prince Henry the Navigator, Bartholomew Dias, and their successors, until the close of the Fifteenth Century. .
