Turgenev's novel is set on the eve of Russia's great reforms of the 19th century. This edition first published 1950, this is sixth reprint. Mass-market paperback, crease to spine, reading crease, light shelf wear, foxing to edges especially top, edges and page margins age-tanned, two pages accidentally dog-eared at bottom. Names of former owners written on ffep along with some notes; underscoring and/or marginalia on apprxomately five other pages.
