About This Item

New York, NY: Farrar, Straus & Giroux, 1968. Book. Near Fine. Cloth. First Edition. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. New York, NY, Farrar, Straus & Giroux, 1968. First edition. 8vo. Black with gilt lettering embossed on spine, maize colored textured endpapers, text block top edge stained peach, 215 pp. The scene is eastern Pennsylvania in the early 1920's and the story revolves around human passions and conflicts as old as literature and as new as each generation. It is, among other things, a parable of an encounter between the spirit which denies and that other which affirms. It speaks of youth and age, guilt and forgiveness, and "the late remorse of love". Near fine in a very good dust jacket, protected by a mylar cover..
