Unpag. volume with one page of introductory text with a single paragraph in Spanish, English, French, and German, followed by 40 full-page plates with black-and-white images featuring a variety of sites within the Poble Espanyol, the art pavilion constructed for the 1929 Exposition and designed as a village containing full-scale replicas of 117 buildings from different parts of Spain, the goal being to give visitors an idea of an "ideal" Iberian village. The idea for the Poble Espanyol came from the architect Puig i Cadafalch, and was realized with the help of the architects Francesc Folguera and Ramón Reventós, art critic Miquel Utrillo, and painter Xavier Nogués. Originally meant to be taken down when the Exposition ended, the Poble Espanyol still stands today and is the 4th most visited tourist attraction in Barcelona. Some of the replica sites photographed in this volume include the Puerta de San Vicente in Ávila, the steps at Santiago de Compostela, Calle de Los Arcos in Cádiz, and the Romanic monastery of Sant Miquel in Catalunya, along with many plazas and streets. Although we are not able to confirm an exact number of holdings on WorldCat, this volume is very scarce institutionally.
