Spine head and foot slightly worn. Cover slightly soiled. Manuscript notes on title page. A few pale foxing. Joint slight cracked between plate 24 and the after page but holding. Pages are clean, contents are clear throughout. Binding is sound. Illustrated with 24 plate of Chinese painting, a rare exhibition catalogue of Exhibition of contemporary Chinese art organized by the museum of foreign and contemporary schools in Paris. Contains a few words on the exhibition by Paul Valery and on Chinese painting in general by Georges Salles, an introduction on the different eras of Chinese painting and a discussion on Chinese painting in modern time, the book includes list of 73 ancient paintings and 191 modern paintings. Including paintings by Ju Peon (Xu beihong), Tchan Datzie (Zhang daqian) and Houan Pin Hon (Huang Binhong) and Giuseppe Castiglione. Le musée Jeu de Paume is an arts center for modern and postmodern photography and media. It is located in the north corner (west side) of the Tuileries Gardens next to the Place de la Concorde in Paris.
