London: Whittaker & Co., 1838. First edition. Full Leather. Good. 22.5 x 14.5 cm. Octavo. 230pp. No advertisements. 6 plates, two of which are fold-out, including frontispiece. Five vignette illustration chapter headings. Bound in ifull red leather. 5 raised bands to spine. Gilt spine lettering and decorations. Marble endpapers. There is some staining to the plates, not reaching the illustrations themselves. Scattered foxing effecting frontispiece. Front free endpaper partially detached. Discoloration to front cover. Errata slip tipped in.
