Eynhallow: The Holy Island of the Orkneys by John Mooney - 1923

Kirkwall: W R Mackintosh, 1923 A fair copy in the original blue cloth binding with folding and single page maps of the island and numerous photographs. The book originated in a series of articles written by Mooney for The Orcadian, which generated enough interest for expansion into a book. The cloth cover is worn and slightly grubby but sound. There is the bookplate of John Davie Manson Robertson, a noted Orcadian, to the front pastedown. Contents: title page, preface, folding map, text with single page map 115pp, photographs -including plans of the monastery pp 120-152, appendices to p164. Internally there is the odd spot or mark, particularly in the top margins. There is a blind stamp of T and J Manson, Lerwick to the top corner of p27.
