Engraved title vignette + 380 ovals in rectangular shaded frames by Thomas Bewick, many reworked to improve graphic clarity of cuts in this edition (Bewick had been dissatisfied with 1st Edn).. Demi octavo (in 4's) 216x132mm paper size, gilt calf (rebacked with leather label & part of original spine) xxiv +376pp collated complete. Occasional light spotting/light browning else lovely clean copy. THUMB PRINT RECEIPT no.65 with 18s receipt, vignette & coloured seaweed on thumb print page. Watermarked paper 1823 Fine Demy + ? Makers mark.Very clean fine copy with the strong impressions and a very low number attesting to an early copy of this edition.
