Contemporary full red morocco, gilt spine with nerves, richly gilt boards. First Edition of this rare educational trilingual version in French, Greek and Latin, of Aesop's fables. Intended to help children in learning Greek and Latin, it was edited by Jean Meslier, a grammarian and hellenist who notably directed the city of Laon's college in the 17th century. A magnificent copy bound at the time in morocco and richly gilt-tooled in the style of the greatest binders of this period.
