Five volumes in hard back: Vol.s I, II, III , two in soft copy: Vol. III pts 3 & 4. / Vol. I - V: Original blue pebble cloth on boards with red half-calf spine and fore corners and gilt titles and trim. Five raised ribs to spine with gilt trim.All Illustrated. Red speckled edges. Three volumes with bookplate with crest 'Auctor Pretiosa Facit' belonging to The Right Hon.'able Lord Averbury , F.R.S., D.C.L,. L.L.O. Vol.I Pts 1 & 2: moderate scuffing & marks to leather; wear to some of the fore-corners; small piece of titles on brown leather missing; surface splitting to frontside spine seams; light couple of marks or smudge to boards. Edges: geying to top-edge; age yellowing & light old foxing to edges; light bumping to boards fore-corners; just a few pages with light penciled note and pencil brackets; mild foxing to a few pages. Fldg map intact. Binding is As New. 232p Pt2: light sprinkling of foxing to a few pages and mostly to the margins; binding is As New. pp235-835. Vol.II: pub 1900: scuffing to leather; three small wear/ scratched spots to frontside leather wrap; head of front boards wedge wiith two small rubbed marked indents;wear to fore-corners; old signature name to head title page; Few only penciled brackets to margins; just a couple of pages with faint and few only foxing to margins. Binding is As New. 878p Vol. III pts 1 & 2: light couple of smudges; scuffed wear to leather and fore-corners.`. Pt.1: few only pages with a few only foxing; fldg maps intact/ one with 2 cm tear to head edge fold and one with 1 cm tear at hinge binding; one page fore-edge with tidy vertical fold crease and pencil note in the margin.
