About This Item
Chapel Hill: The University of North Carolina Press, 1977. Hardcover. 8vo. Red cloth with gilt spine lettering, pictorial dust jacket. xiv, 190pp. Near fine/very good. Mild jacket edgewear and rubbing. Tight, quite nice first edition. Interestingly, laid in is a 4-page holograph review of this and one other title by Joseph J. Waldmeir (1923-2013), academic and literary critic, boldly pencilled on yellow lined 8½" X 11" notebook paper. Where this review was published is unknown, though given the subject and his mention of Truman Capote possibly it appears in his 1999 book, "The Critical Response to Truman Capote." Waldmeir's pencilled margin lines and squiggles appear occasionally in the book's margins.
