Hardcover. 12mo. 18cm, first edition, 271p., 1p.rear ads, frontis portrait (author), title page vignette, 8 engraved plates, 1 text illustration, new marbled endpapers, original green cloth, gilt spine titles, gilt illustrations (fly) on the upper cover, black stamped borders on the boards, slightly dust worn, good to very good sound copy (gar). ~ Fly fishing in Scotland and Wales. An anecdotal story of salmon fishing told with humour and illustrated by the author. Includes a self portrait as frontispiece ("The Angler on the green sward lies dispirited and spent").
