New York, NY: Mayflower Books, 1979. 231pp. Facsimile reprint of the 1923 edition originally published by Macmillan, London. Original dark green cloth with silver lettering to spine. Yellow silk ribbon bookmark. By the Author of "John Halifax Gentleman". With 16 illustrations in color by Warwick Goble, one of the leading watercolorists of his day who works appear in many children's books, including The Water Babies. A collection of classic tales, some English, and some from Perrault, d'Aulnois, and Grimm. Pages are clean (no writing, underlining, or highlighting). Sewn binding is cracked but pages are secure. 1/4" split to upper front hinge, small puncture to rear hinge. Boards are lightly scuffed with minor rubbing to extremities. Unclipped pictorial DJ is sunned/finger soiled and has a 1.5" closed tear to upper front cover repaired by scotch tape. Shelfwear (moderate rubbing/slight chipping to head of spine, light nicking to heel of spine, a few scrapes to paper on rear panel near spine, corners heavily rubbed/beginning to fray). Nevertheless, ooks nice in protective mylkar covering. This is not a remainder or ex-library. No previous owner markings. Nice reading copy. . Facsimile Reprint. Hard Cover. Good/Good -. Illus. by Goble, Warwick. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Mylared.

UPS/RPS or Fedex available at additional cost upon request. All shipments to Mexico or Canada over four (4) pounds is subject to rate increase. Returns will be accepted on a limited basis. If any item arrives and is not in the condition described on Biblio, or is not the edition listed on the website, we will refund both the item and shipping both ways - upon receipt of the return package.
