Elyria, OH: The Colson Company, [ca. 1917]. 16mo. [20 pp (unpaginated)]. Illustrated throughout. Self-printed colour-illustrated softcovers, with cover art on front cover of child playing on conventional tricycle, while young child on back playing on the Elfin ball-bearing tricycle (minor shelfwear, minor soiling, minor thumbing), still VG- copy, stapled as issued. First edition of this exceedingly scarce catalogue for this early manufacturer of tricycles, scooters, auto coasters, and bicycles for juveniles. Founded originally in 1885 as Fay Manufacturing, the company was eventually purchased by Fred Colson in 1917, and produced wheelchairs, hospital beds, wheeled carts, casters, and bicycles. This beautifully produced catalogue includes a Ball-Bearing Auto Coaster resembling an Irish mail cart, tricycle wagon combinations, chain-driven Brownie handkar, and boys’ and girls’ bicycles with 20 to 28 inch wheels. No copies located in Worldcat; See; Colson Products, About Colson, History (2016).
