The eleventh printing of the Folio Society facsimile edition of this work in the publisher's original pictorial cloth binding, in a slipcase. Illustrated with a colour frontispiece and twenty-nine further colour plates. Collated, complete.The Folio Society facsimile edition of this charming work, with exquisite illustrations by the notable French-British book illustrator Edmund Dulac (1882-1953). This edition reprints, with minor emendations, the versions of 'The Sleeping Beauty', 'Blue Beard', 'Cinderella', and 'Beauty and the Beast' first published by Hodder & Stoughton in 1912, as The Sleeping Beauty and Other Fairy Tales from the Old French, retold by Sir Arthur Quiller-Couch, illustrated by Edmund Dulac. The texts of the remaining tales are based on the original Robert Samber translation.The tales in this volume include: 'The Sleeping Beauty', 'Little Red Riding-Hood', 'Blue Beard', 'Puss in Boots', 'The Fairy', 'Cinderella', 'Riquet-with-the-Tuft', 'Hop-o'-my-Thumb' and 'Beauty and the Beast'. In the publisher's original pictorial cloth binding, in a slipcase. Externally, in lovely bright condition. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean. Faint marks to the top of the slipcase, which is otherwise in excellent condition. Fine
