A Modern Library edition offering "The Fall," a short novel by the Algerian-born French author Albert Camus (1913-1960), as well as "Exile and the Kingdom," his collection of 6 short stories. Translated from the French by Justin O'Brien. Per the jacket, the author envisaged that these two works would be presented together. --- In Toledano spine 11 / red cloth / ML hex torchbearer device blindstamped to front cover / gilt-stamped spine titling & torchbearer / tan Kent endpapers / jacket style l, verso blank. Likely published c.1964 (though 1958 date appears in book). ML #352.1. --- A clean, tightly-bound, unmarked copy, though with age-toning to two-thirds of the textblock edges. Fair-only, unclipped dust jacket ($2.45) with conspicuous sunning to spine, chips and tears to edges but mostly intact and in new removable archival mylar protector.; 12mo 7" - 7-1/2" tall; (4), 361, (10, ads) pages .
Synopsis
