Milman was anordained minister who became dean of St. Paul's,he wasbest known however,for his scholarly achievements. He translated Sanskrit poetry, and wrote several works of religious history, including a History of the Jews and a History of Christianity under the Empire, both of which approached their subject matter with historical precision and rational detachment. Condition: In decorative calf binding with gilt lettering and design to the spine. Externally, a triflerubbed to boards and extremities. Internally, firmly bound with bright pages. Some scattered light spotting. Overall: VERY GOOD.
